The Sound of Silent Chewin’

the sound of silent chewin’
whilst ladies discuss boys
is all i get for lis’nin’
and all that funny noise

bacon strips i would so dine
that with a slug of gin
nutella can go fine with wine
as well as deadly sin

don’t ask the ladies about food
and what this means to mens
’tis better if we just stay good
and not eat our amens

The New Beginnings of the Half-way Children

This is a new place, today is a new place
This is a new place we are in.
This is a new place of muffins
And croissants and milk and risks.

This is a new place, where flavors tumble
Where you can shuddup me and I don’t mind
Where you can share a risk to need me
And I can spell “definitive”.

We are the Half-way Children
With the course Half-run
This place is our Child
We are the Half-way Children

This is a new place, it is the child of new gladness
It is our child that is the end of grieving
It is our child that shouts in silences
In between our noisy neediness.

We are the Half-way Children
With the course Half-run
This place is our Child
We are the Half-way Children

A Prayer for Inanna

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

Enkidu and Inanna;
Orpheus and Eurydice;
Agamemnon and Clytemnestra;
Jupiter and Juno;
Mars and Venus;
Enkidu and Inanna

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

I laughed, I laughed with Trust
Even as I grieved my Word
And my Word sang You back
When You demanded Word
And by Thus began Redemption
And by Redemption We began Thus

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

Virgil, You came and sent Me to Hell
Even as I knew You would wait for Me
And bring Me your hand as Beatrice
I grieved and I did grieve and with Power
And We did Wail and Wait and Want
And We Sang! In those Ways and the Word

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

You sent me Your River with the Rain
And I showed you Mine of the Water Lilies
You sent Me to see Your Family and Your Loss
And I told You what I could of My Fathers
You made a for Me as Enkidu a World for the Word
With Rubies of Inanna and thus where You Inanna

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

You asked of Me then once more
And I told You of Holy Sebastian of Steel
And of where to find a Frog on the Skull
And where there was a Cat in the Garden
That You could not Enlarge, but I found it
And then We knew, We knew the Word Color

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

Always the Rubies of your bellybutton
I tasted and forgot to grunt
Always the Rubies that I should polish
I feasted and forgot to wipe
Always the Rubies that you would wear
I sold my Soul and forgot Redemption

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
But that is not why I love You

It began with the Infanta
It began when I searched for Diego
It began with Your “Who is that?”
It began with what You thought You Saw
It began as I showed You Truth
It began as I began to Die

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
Almost – This is why I love you

Because even in the Beginning Our Word
And even when We together are Laid and Dust
When this Star Dies and becomes Steel
As Entropy Rules and Nothing of the Flesh is left
Those Future Immortals will know Our Word
That in the Our Beginning was Our Word

In Unitatae Spiritus Sancti
And then I loved You
And that is why I love You

I Want to Buy a Book

Sometimes, I want to buy a book
To buy a book to read
And then sometimes I realize
It’s a book that I don’t need
What to do then, what to do?
Shall I still proceed?
My heart says yes, go right ahead
Don’t pay your wallet heed.

Some Mornings

Some mornings are for the rain.
There’s a sun out right now
So beginnings may have to wait.
Rebuilding will need dryness
But destruction the first necessity.

Sense – (the world you’ve known
Has shattered and twisted.
Hollow aspirations undone
Deliverance from nothing.)

It will rain destruction later
Yielding a sandpile
Which the rain washes flat.
You look for mornings as beginnings,
– and often they are –
The rainy ones especially
And the sunny ones after.

For Sam: Sleep – Magic

 Sam

Sleep, did you well
What did you see?

Is there a place
There? where?

Sleep – magic

Shadow time –
Of remembrances
Shadow time –
The world waits
Shadow time –
It stirs

Shadows end –
You are awake
And I am glad-
More than glad

To see words fly

She’s a blur, a wizard

She’s a blur, a wizard
My sometimes kisser,
Words, work (I call)
I often miss her.
She’s great at play
But when she’s not
She make me worlds
I had forgot.
