After abducting Europa
the bull became sad;
the fight with the sea
had weakened him.

The bull landed at Hellas,
lowered his horns,
and, bored and annoyed,
nibbled on some hay.

“Why did I bother with that girl,
so naked and weak…”
The young moon gave the bull
a mocking look:

You poor devil, first you kidnap her,
then you grow sad;
you’d trade all your Olympian blessings
for a bit of quiet…”
