testimonial definition

from the page

Written recommendation from a celebrity or satisfied customer affirming the performance, quality, and/or value of a product or service. Testimonials are one of the most potent tools of marketing.

Of course the choice of using the ‘Business Dictionary’ is rather deliberate. I’m used to corporate-speak, and it has a good place inside the boardroom. Clever marketers avoid using corporate-speak when talking to the public directly as it can’t come across as anything other than insincere.

Or perhaps it’s just a way to make it more difficult for us to be ‘not-nice’?

It is not the truth, and no one is going to write a testimonial of another person when they intend to write a review.
