On MenPosted: November 7, 2007
To me did once a friend appear with query
About how blameful Man could be to Man.
So drop my eyes did I with shame, and then
Deliver this excuse for us poor men.
Oh please forgive! How horrible we are
Who prey on those whose innocence abuse!
But must we now assume the worst? You know
How men can get, they shout and say such things
To bloat themselves superior to others
Then call yet others beasts who’d prick their chests.
Are we, us sad mere men, a pack of jokers
With nary a numbered virtue? Only Nulls
That come in hands that birth has simply dealt us?
May honor come to those who grace their lives
With truth, who seeks us as a child with hope
Whose faith redeems us of our horrid ways.
