I’d sooner know that flower

I’d sooner know that flower
That, of the still quietness
Sold to me in sudden glances
That holds me with many thoughts

Not shouts in colors bold
Nor bidding for attention
Nor capturing me by power
Nor permanence demanded

I’d sooner know that flower,
Whose faint sensibility shows through
A sudden and silent elegance
Than any colored storm unleashed
